We are a nonprofit partnering with others who are working towards positive change.

Who we are

People Partners is a nonprofit based in Southern California that seeks to assist other nonprofits, small businesses, and individuals who are already established in our local community. By working to support and connect these organizations to the right people and resources, we believe that we are helping to encourage positive change around us.

What we do

Helping well starts with listening well. We are able to tailor the kind of support our partners need when we engage in conversation with them, listen to their stories, and understand their visions. As a result, we are able to equip our partners with guidance and resources that enables them to grow sustainably and to achieve their missions. This principle is analogous to the age-old saying, “If you give a person a fish today, they will be hungry again tomorrow; teach them to fish, and they feed themselves for a lifetime.”

How we do it

After we understand our partner’s needs, we determine how best to help. A partner may need office space, equipment, training, staff development, financial resources or guidance from one of our volunteers who has relevant expertise. Some need supportive mentoring or what we call “thought partnering.” In instances where we are not equipped to assist, we seek to connect the partner to other organizations that may be better positioned to help.

Our Story

The vision for People Partners Foundation was born at a time of great strife in our country and world. The upheaval of a global pandemic, societal division, and the decline of basic human kindness brought our family deep sadness and despair. During a time when people were choosing to tear each other down, we decided to build others up. This changed our perspective to focus on those who were working to create positive change in our local community and beyond. We decided that our mission would be to partner with them, encourage them, and support them to continue their good work.

Kindly,
The Atwood Family
